Three veteran Bellevue teachers have taken early retirement incentives, ending their careers at the end of this school year. The Bellevue school board accepted their resignations “with regrets” Monday night.
The first, elementary physical education Talented and Gifted (TAG) teacher Dave Broders, wrote in a letter to the board that he “thoroughly enjoyed teaching and coaching this past 37 years… This was and is a great place to raise a family.”
In her resignation, first-grade teacher Laurie Anderson praised her fellow teachers and administrators and gave a vote of confidence in the next generation of educators.
“It is time to let the younger teachers take over,” she wrote. “I have great faith in them.”
The final early retiree is long-time Bellevue High School athletic director, dean of students and middle school physical education teacher Rick Pogemiller.
