Dock plans will go to engineers

Plans for 200 feet of docks on Bellevue’s south riverfront will go to engineers IIW for design.

The Bellevue city council moved at their Dec. 15 meeting to pay half the cost of engineering and a permit application, which will total slightly over $4,000.

The Bellevue Economic and Tourism Association (BETA) will pay the other half, said BETA representatives that evening.

Current plans are scaled down from an ambitious plan put to the city council earlier this year. That looked like “a mausoleum for a dock,” said mayor Virgil Murray, and city officials worried about up-front and ongoing costs of the project.
